The Perfect guy is a thriller that tells a story of a very successful woman, Leah Vaughn, who is played by actress, Sanaa Lathan. Everything in her life seems like it's going well. She's successful, wealthy, has a great job, and a great boyfriend. All of what we see in the beginning changes, when we realize that despite all of her successes she is very unhappy. Mainly, Leah is upset with her boyfriend who does not want marriage; even though they are both nearing their early forties. Leah ends the relationship with Dave who is played by Morris Chestnut, and moves on to a very mysterious guy named Carter Duncan. Carter is played by Michael Ealy. This movie does an amazing job of telling a suspenseful story of a woman meeting a new, mysterious guy who ends up not being who he says he is, and will have viewers at the edge of their seats.

The Perfect Guy is set in California in the year 2015. The attire worn by these characters are very fitting for the time period and setting. Because of that, it makes it much easier for viewers to connect with the movie, and it makes the movie more realistic. The set itself and additional actors and actresses are very good. Throughout the movie, we are shown different places that makes it known that this movie was set in California. For example, when Leah goes hiking with Dave we see the beautiful California Mountains. The music in The Perfect Guy is also very fitting and it plays at the right time. Whenever there is a suspenseful moment the music is played to make the movie more captivating. Also, the overall quality of the movie is well displayed. Viewers can tell that this movie was produced by experienced producers and directors. The Perfect Guy is not a movie for young kids, but it more fitting for teens and older adults. The Perfect Guy includes violence, curse words, and sex scenes.

The plot of the movie, is about a successful woman who breaks up with her long term boyfriend. She meets a man named Carter at a coffee shop. He offers to pay for her coffee, and by doing that she becomes interested. One night, she runs into him again at a bar, and he saves her from an awkward situation involving another guy hitting on her. They immediately hit it off and soon after become a couple. Things start off absolutely perfect. He is kind, successful, her parents love him, and he loves her. Until one night, Leah was sitting in a car and an innocent man comes over to talk to her about Carter's car. Carter gets extremely jealous and assaults the man very. Leah takes this as a sign to hurry and break off this relationship before he ends up hurting her. With doing that, Carter becomes obsessed and stalks Leah. Not only does he stalk her, but becomes extremely violent. He is violent towards her neighbor who watches over her house when Leah is not home, and he even becomes violent towards Dave when he finds out they got back together after Leah breaks up with him. He begins to act out in ways that are not only scary, but illegal. He installs cameras into her house, and he records intimate times Leah has with Dave. He sets the goal of ruining her life, and does so by getting her fired from her job when he emails those intimate videos to her boss. Along, with invading her privacy by watching her; he breaks into her house and watches her when she sleeps.

The actor Michael Ealy does an outstanding job portraying this character. He becomes someone who is scary, a stalker, and murderous. Claps should not just be given to Ealy's character, but also to Lathan. She becomes a character who is strong and willing to fight for her life back despite what is being done to her by Ealy's character. There was not a moment in this movie where I thought "The acting sucks!" or "That so wasn't believable!" Everything about this movie was realistic and attention grabbing. Even though this movie is fictional, it is really an eye opener to viewers that we should be careful of who we let in our lives because not everyone is who they say they are.

I was blown away by this movie! I would recommend this movie to any and everybody who has an interest in suspenseful or thriller type movies. It's a movie that has a huge plot twist by making you think that Leah's new relationship could take off and she could live happily ever after, but really it takes a dramatic turn. Her life and the life of people close to her are put in danger. The plot, setting, and characters were chosen very well, and made the movie even that more good to watch.
