Review of The People vs. Larry Flynt (1996) by Timothy G — 20 Feb 2014
The true story of the controversial publisher Larry Flynt, who made Hustler Magazine a household name and fought for freedom of speech whilst many Americans attempted to shut him down. It takes a strong actor to take on the role of such a powerful character and Woody Harrelson puts in a superb performance, displaying both the confidence and distress that Flynt's life produced.
He is supported by an excellent Courteney Love, whose portrayal of Althea is both strong and heart breaking as she lives the highs and lows alongside Flynt. A great movie, made more intriguing because it is based on real events.
