Review of The People vs. Larry Flynt (1996) by Mjs M — 20 Jan 2008
My primary interest in the life of Larry Flynt was the first amendment battles he found himself in. When this film examines these court scenes it is at its best, however there is a fairly standard biopic that surrounds these parts I was really interested in.
This was a very well shot, well edited, and well cast film, particularly enjoyable was a very young Edward Norton as Flynt?s lawyer. Still the film could have really used some trimming and Flynt largely turns out to be a very unlikable character.
