Review of The People vs. George Lucas (2010) by Brian C — 20 Nov 2011
There's plenty of entertaining comments made by the fans throughout. That said, it leans too heavily towards one side to be a quality documentary. It's too biased towards "hating" Lucas' post Jedi career.
It would have been more provocative (and intelligent) if there were a balance of fans. Not just those who hate the prequels but also those that defend them. After all, the prequels are a much more complex and layered trilogy.
Despite the originals having their place in history, Lucas' finest films have been those that he made between 2002-'05. It's no coincidence that both Spielberg and Coppola would agree. People tend to forget, the best movie George directed was his most recent one.
