Review of The People vs. George Lucas (2010) by Reece L — 10 Jun 2015
Documenting the cult of personality that has developed around George Lucas and his Star Wars franchise, "The People vs. George Lucas" exemplifies the nature of fandom culture, both good aspects (a genuine love and appreciation for a work of art that both inspires and entertains) and bad (the general sense of entitlement, unfortunate and distasteful anecdotes about Lucas committing acts of sexual violence on the "childhoods" of grown people who should know better, etc.
). It's by no means vital filmmaking, but it's a must-see for Star Wars completists and those ever involved in a fanbase to an illogical degree.
