My most favourite Grisham.
Hate Julia Roberts and truly believe she has been lucky all of her life as I have never seen her act well! Never carried a movie on her own, & if it were not for the leading men she has played against...I would have never watched any movies that she has been in! LOVE HER BROTHER ERIC (DON'T REALLY THINK HE ACTS VERY WELL EITHER, BUT BETTER THAN SIS & HIS INTENSITY IS AT LEAST HARD TO LOOK AWAY FROM! That said, this and conspirarcy theory are I believe the only movies in my top 500 that she appears in. She is only fair in this movie and if it were not for the story line, would be hard to watch her poor acting. She is better in Conspiracy Theory and does manage to tug at my heart strings crying out for Jerry remarkably played by Mel Gibson.

Back to the Pelican Brief. Very topical for those of you whom have never seen. Deals with environmental concerns! The rest of the cast in this are well appointed and played in a tense taut thriller! I never fail to watch it, if on TV! It still startles me in all of the correct places!
I guess Americans being such non-readers, are as well...incapable of keeping up with a complex plot! This plot is I believe the most intricate of all Grisham adapted movies!

The Pelican Brief.
(Most suspenseful-complex plot).
The Client.
(Susan Sarandon & Tommy Lee Jones! SAD ABOUT BRAD RENFRO DYING SO YOUNG!) Gotta love this acting, the second most unbelievable plot however!).
The Firm.
(Hard to beat this cas-plot less plausible-plausable?t!).
The Rainmaker.
(This one is to me the darkest & therefore the hardest to watch and I do not like the actors in this, but the storyline is better!).
A Time To Kill.
(Killer Kast!...age ol' sad story!).
