Review of The Pelican Brief (1993) by Fazley A — 25 Jul 2010
3: Grisham definitely knows how to pen a good story. And Pakula apparently knows how to direct one. This is one of those very solid films that doesn't do anything spectacular, but it is eminently watchable just the same.
It's one of the things Hollywood does extremely well and makes it the envy of the world. Roberts and Washington make a great team and the rest of cast is filled out quite nicely as well. The two of them certainly have star power.
The story rushes along towards its inevitable, but nonetheless satisfying, conclusion. A thriller worth coming back to again and again over the years.
