Review of The Peanuts Movie (2015) by Lance M — 07 Jan 2016
The Peanuts Movie is one of the sweetest, most nostalgic movies I've seen in a while. It was so endlessly heartwarming and positive. If you're not familiar with the Peanuts characters, then you may not love it as much, but to anyone who holds Charles Schulz's characters deep in their heart, this movie is a GIFT. I cried, and I'm not embarrassed to say I did.
If anything, it feels like being visited by an old friend again. Too many movies try to be unique and outstanding, while The Peanuts Movie manages to create a great film without having to try so hard. It's simple, but memorable. And I think all of us can relate to Charlie Brown. I know I can.
Thank you, Blue Sky! Taking one of America's most beloved characters was a risk but one that paid off so, so well. Now, maybe I'll go rewatch Snoopy, Come Home...
