Review of The Peanut Butter Falcon (2019) by Afm185 — 21 Jun 2020
Really sweet movie. Not particularly exciting but it doesn’t need to be at all. It’s just nice to watch. It centers around three characters, a guy with down syndrome, Zac, a fisherman (sorta?), Tyler, and the caretaker of the guy with down syndrome, Eleanor.
I really, really like the characters in this movie. The caretaker isn’t that interesting but I still liked her. And the relationship between the three of them is pretty wonderful. The story in its entirety isn’t exactly complex or anything but I still cared about what would happen.
And it’s a really good length. Nothing in here feels like it’s tacked on. There’s some uncomfortable scenes to be honest mainly due to the fact that Zac is basically naked for like ten minutes straight at one point, but it’s acceptable.
The dialogue is great at points, and how they treat Zac is respectful towards his disorder and I appreciated that. This movie is a really good time it made me smile a lot. Oh yeah and the acting is terrific.
