Review of The Patriot (2000) by Adrian B — 13 Jun 2010
Too grotesque of a film for me. There was too much gore and blood for me to enjoy. My stomach churned and I had to leave the room at times during the graphic displays. My specifically least favourite scene is when Gibson starts shooting in the woods at soldiers.
Blood splatering out of their mouths and then the scene where Gibson chops the a soldier up with an axe is just sick and very wrong! It lasts for several minutes. As well, the scene where a whole a crowd of people are burned in church is sick, stupid, and inaccurate.
That happened during World War II, not the American Revolution. Definately a film in which I was not a fan of.
