I love this movie! It has everything, great acting, great cinematography, great directing from Emmerich which I never imagined I would say, and an awesome storyline. The Patriot creates one of the most sinister villains in movie history, that British colonel will make you cringe with anger, and make you root for Gibson's character.
Heath Ledger was a very good actor and it makes me sad saying was. Here is a film that does not go over the top which is something new for this director, it's long but the pacing is quite brisk. It's entertaining beyond belief.
