It would be fairly easy to think of this as Braveheart if it was set during the American Revolution, but then again, at least Braveheart was entertaining. This movie, on the other hand, just goes on and on with nothing much to show for it.

The characters and acting, I'll admit, are fairly decent, but the story suffers because of the film's borderline excessive length, and the excessive moralizing and melodrama of some of the characters.

I make no exaggeration when I say that this movie was really painful to watch. There was action and drama, but all of it was a pretty shallow attempt to convince you that you're actually watching a movie.

It feels more like an overly romanticized history lesson, and it even does a bad job at that as well. I'll admit that the film at least looks polished, but that doesn't change the fact that this movie is so boring.

It's not irredeemably bad, but I don't see much of a reason to care about this movie.
