Review of The Passion of the Christ (2004) by Markg. — 06 Jun 2006
Gibson stepped out on a limb to portray the story of Christ outside the civilized norm of consumer religion. For those that prefer a cross-less Christ, this is not the movie to watch. The event is historically documented by secular and religious sources and yet is scandalized as gratutious and sadistic.
To accept the event, as Gibson portrays it, is an indictment of the human condition; one that most defiintely needs rescuing.
