Man, this movie is immensely difficult to watch and I aim to watch it once a year on Good Friday. But you have to prepare your heart and sensibilities for it, for it takes no shortcuts. It shows the true and atrocious torture of my Lord Jesus Christ, and in my opinion this movie IS THE MOVIE that one should watch to see what He went through for us.

It is a staple in any Christian's film collection. Right from the beginning I was broken hearted, so for two hours that definitely doesn't let up. But Jesus went through worse, so me watching cant be as bad as Him going through it.

On to the movie.I found it biblically accurate, passionate, real, gritty. I liked how throughout the last hours of Jesus's earthly life, scenes were sprinkled throughout of his life's ministry, so it synced everything nicely and gave a thorough picture.

The characters were perfectly coasted. Perfectly. Every single one of them, EVERY one, looked like they came from that time period. Jim, who played Jesus, was astounding. Absolutely astounding. He was clearly ready for that role.

The setting and extras and costumes were nice also, and real. This movie is authentic, plain and simple. Authentic. Thank you and bless you Mel Gibson. Now about it being anti-Semitic, I can see how people who clearly are thinking of themselves see it that way.

I saw ME hammering that nail into Jesus and me whipping him for my atrocious sins. Plain and simple. He died for all, and he had to go this route, in that land of Israel, and through those people. But from the beginning he had to come for everyone's sin and selfishness and cruelty.

So anti-Semitic could be seen from it if one is not aware of their own sin problem. Enough of that.Perfect movie, perfect cast, perfect language mastery even for the English speaking (Jim, maybe others I dunno), perfect props and setting, and also thankfully, scripture used throughout the movie.

A powerhouse movie, and one of its kind, that changes my life every time I see it. Five stars.
