Review of The Passion of the Christ (2004) by Facebook U — 28 Feb 2015
I always like reenactments of true events. Of course these events are not necessarily true as depicted in the bible but their must be some truth in it. The film provide a means to judge how truthful it can be by being relatively faithful to the story and realistically made.
Could Jesus have endured this and survived? I personnally believe it is possible that there was a Jesus that survived the crucifiction. The lashes as depicted are a bit much though. I don't see anyone surviving this without special powers involvements, which is probably the point the bible story made.
The film presents many issues, what was the driving force to crucify him is brought clearly. What are the consequences of negating, betrayal, choosing the easy way, seek power for fear, helping, etc, are well presented enough.
What is human? It is to have the power to choose. And then have to live with the choices. Unless one is a psychopath, we understand the values passed by the story. Whether the story really happened or not, the story has always been very useful as a life lessons to poor human mortals.
