Review of The Parking Lot Movie (2010) by Kam T — 30 Jan 2011
This documentary was more interesting than one might expect. It is full of interviews of employees and former employees of a parking lot in Virginia. Virtually of of the parking lot employees are overqualified for their jobs, and they are smarter than the average bear.
Their wit and wisdom comes through in interviews, which begin in the opening sequence and continue through the film. Through the film we learn something about their philosophy and world view. How else but a documentary film would we experience this stuff? It's bemusing and fun.
It also reveals us, the way in which we sometimes treat those we perceive as on a lower socioeconomic plane than us.
