Review of The Parent Trap (1998) by Brian D — 02 Aug 2010
Can you believe Lindsay Lohan was ever this young? Can you believe she was ever this sober?
This is a great Disney family movie. It has all the right elements for it to be a modern day classic. What I like most about this movie is the humor coupled with the dichotomy of the two different parents. How could they be more different while still being the exact same? One's an English fashion designer, the other a Napa valley vintner. The subplot of the butler and the maid getting together is also a nice addition to this version.
Interesting point, the two movies are actually in somewhat of the same timeline. The evil fiance of the first Parent Trap ends up being the mother of the second evil fiance in this movie. Nice little twist there.
