The Parent Trap is a comedy filled romance film from 1998 directed by Nancy Meyers. The plot follows twins who are separated by divorce and reunited by summer camp. After they meet at camp and discover they are identical twins, they come up with the idea of switching lives.
The girls deceive their mother, Elizabeth James, and father, Nick Parker, into crossing each others paths at the hotel that they are both staying at. The girls go back with their father and embark on a camping trip with their fathers new fiance.
The trip ends in shambles and the father and his new fiance end up not getting married. Elizabeth and Nick realize that they are still madly in love with one another and get remarried. Sometimes families just belong with each other but need a little push from others to discover it.
