We see a sordid Florida and its racial and social prejudices, the atmosphere of the movie is as unhealthy as the life in the Everglades marshes..... I 've been impressed by Nicole Kidman who dares to play a role totally opposed to her usual glamorous and clean image : she plays a vulgar and scatterbrained Barbie girl, but very naive and touching.
...a so dark and poisonous thriller....
