Review of The Panic in Needle Park (1971) by Jarett B — 29 Feb 2008
In one of the earliest Pacino works, I feel that the great actor is upstaged by the underrated Schatzberg. The scenes that steal the film are often nothing more than arms, needles, rubber bands, shot in stomach churning realism, making it a hard film to watch.
However, Pacino's acting is both subtle and explosive and this film cemented his stay in the early stages of "The Godfather"; I feel there is a little Michael Corleone in his work in "Panic".
