Review of The Panic in Needle Park (1971) by Sherry L — 02 Aug 2011
Really early Pacino that I haven't seen in fifteen years. It was a rarity when I first saw it when they played it on MPIX saying that it was a lost movie. A little easier to come by in this day in age.
Fans of the actor should check it out to see how he cuts his teeth in one of his first features & it shines through that he would eventually become legendary. One of the grittiest movies that Ive seen about heroin addiction.
It almost makes me wonder what Im missing never trying the drug. Not that I would. Like I need a monkey on my back. Can you just imagine what an $80 a day habit back in 71 would cost today?
