Review of The Painted Veil (2006) by Sven P — 21 Jun 2009
I really liked this film, orginally I was thinking it was going to be a long simple romantic film, and it was kinda inevitable where the story was going to go but with the performances that both Edward Norton and Naomi Watts give you can't help but feel the tense and chemistry between them both.
The scenery and atmosphere is also something that has to be praised as well, its very beautifully filmed... yes it isn't colourful or diverse instead it is bleak and captures the hard times and poverty of the era.
It definetly tugged at my heart strings and surprisingly has stuck with me alot since watching it for the first time some days ago. Definetly one that i'll end up watching again and again.
Would recommend.
