Two young people marry but don't love each other. One has an affair and is caught "in the act". The other turns cold and distant. Edward Norton is excellent as the husband who takes his wife to far-off China to work with cholera victims (revenge?).
Naomi Watts is great as the wife who learns what is important in life. Beautiful scenic photography adds to the movie.
