For some reason Naomi Watts always leaves me cold. Perhaps I've never forgiven her for 'The Ring 2'. It could be her ridiculous hair. I'm not sure what it is, but it certainly helped me find this slightly mediocre.
All the ingredients are there for something special - Norton, Schreiber, the stunning Chinese landscapes, disease, betrayal, redemption...but the whole somehow ends up being less than the sum of its parts.
