The Painted Veil is full of inspired and beautiful performances and landscape shots. But, to warn those who want constant action, it's a character development movie, not something with a heavy constantly twisting plot.
The Painted Veil is amazingly written and is realistic. Edward Norton has some extremely magnificent moments and scenes in which he really gives us his character. A beautiful movie for anyone who loves characters.
