Review of The Painted Veil (2006) by Bala S — 10 Mar 2012
Wonderful and delicate..
Showcases a man's love for a woman turn into contempt after catching her cheating on him. All this in the midst of a political drama while battling cholera in a remote Chinese village.
Deep and meaningful, like all Maugham stories, this portrays how delicate a marriage can be. Great casting choices as well, not to mention brilliant cinematography!
