Review of The Pagemaster (1994) by Don M — 08 Jun 2008
First of all, if powerful magic like in this movie actually existed, I would hope that it would be used for more important tasks than "get a kid to overcome his fears".
Secondly, the first second that I entered that library and a creepy christopher Lloyd looking motherfucker started harassing me and scaring the shit out of me, I'd be right out of there right away.
Thirdly, We he eventually meets the books they seem to get well aquainted relatively quickly. After walking around with Horror for 10 or so minutes, Adventuare claims that he would give his life to get him back. I don't know about anyone else, but I would never give my life for someone I've been aquainted with for 10 minutes.
It was too quickly paced and could have been made to be a bit longer, but for what it was it was really good. The animation is insanely good. Kind of makes me wish animated movies like this were still made, but CGI always comes first these days.
