Review of The Pact (2012) by Ron S — 21 Jan 2013
This would seem to fall in nicely behind 'The Innkeepers'. 'The Pact' may not be not breaking any new ground, but it's solidly written without falling into the trap out trying to 'out-clever' itself. Effectively directed with a consistent sense of dread and tension. Well-acted, with the exception of Casper Van Dien who's not very good. His part is a secondary role though and he doesn't get in the way. Credit where it's due, Van Dien genuinely seemed to be trying (this IS probably one of his better outtings)... he's just an awful actor.
Definitely worth checking out! It's available instantly through Netflix ...
