Review of The Pact (2012) by Yuvett S — 08 Sep 2013
The Pact is a good effort but ultimately falls short with bits of things that I could care less about. There are many loose ends. The writing is the trouble here. Not to say there were not some good ideas.
There were good ideas for sure. I thought the directing was quite good for this film. The acting is poor but the directing is not. They have some nice shots of the house with a wide angle going through hallways with interesting patterned wallpaper.
All together many horror cliches but they are hard to break. My big problem is the constant usage of technology in this film. There is something about ghosts, spirits and television, I phones, and Google that all bother me when combined.
Oh...and I dont give a shit about your actresses eye color. Thats a big problem for me...too many close up shots of eyes. I mean I like eyes too...but you wont see me doing these shots often...it worked too well in Requiem for a Dream for the rest of film history.
