Review of The Pacifier (2005) by Ryan V — 02 May 2012
Vin Diesel, like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jackie Chan, is obliged to lampoon his action hero image in a babysitting movie. The Pacifier features the obnoxiously familiar plot of a professional badass who is assigned to look after precocious youngsters while fending off some bad guys.
Most of The Pacifier is composed of standard-issue gags about diaper changing and handling the pitfalls of teenage angst. And yes, most of it feels like it's warmed over from Kindergarten Cop. Naturally, I think it's fair to say that it does not bode well for your movie if it feels like most of the material is warmed over from Kindergarten Cop.
