Review of The Owl and the Pussycat (1970) by Tom F — 30 May 2008
This provided reasonable entertainment on a rainy afternoon a few weeks back. Streisand is an acquired taste and she perhaps borders on the shrill a bit too much in this one, but she does ok in her role.
More impressive is George Segal as the retiring book worm who keeps trying to shrug off Streisand till they get together in the end. In the vein of Neil Simon comedies which I have generally enjoyed, this was quite nicely paced.
Don't like Blood Sweat and Tears and thought the music for the film was a bit crappy. Also I don't think you could watch this if you hate Babs, though she is definitely great in What's Up Doc?.
