I think this is brilliant, I never laughed so much while watching a Western! It was described by the TV programme as a very "dark" and "violent" movie, I bet they had only watched the beginning.
.. It does start off like this but then, it is just so funny! Of course you still have some violence and the serious story in the background, but come on... the "civilised" Indian who is ashamed because he has "lost his instinct" (wonderful Dan George), the "squaw" who doesn't speak the language, the old Granny who can even scare Josey into submission.
.. and Josey spitting his tobacco... Really great fun.
