This film delivers an unforgettable combination of pacing, plot, and dialogue. Acting and directing are both deliberate, powerful, but the pervasive ace in this hand is pacing, movement, tempo. Eastwood pulls off his mythic invicibility while still grounding us in a profound and resonant masterpiece; a stretched realism in which each scene is anticipated seamlessly, and the resulting flow is captivating.
