One of the great Eastwood westerns in which Clint plays another iconic figure in the west who won't go down easily. The difference here though is Josey Wales is a man that's love and objects of his affection have been taken away, taking him from a peaceful man to a vengeful one.
Chief Dan George is a companion anyone would be proud to ride with and the saloon scene at the end where everyone knows but won't say a word is filmmaking of a high order. "Are you gonna pull those pistols or whistle dixie?".
