Those people calling this movie a Turkish propaganda movie, are you out of your senses?

"The Ottoman Lieutenant" is written by Jeff Stockwell and directed by Joseph Ruben! This means that no Turkish people were involved in its making, whereas "The Promise" coming out in April is written, directed and produced by Armenians...so which one of them is a propaganda movie ??

I have seen here and on IMDb that people are rating without having watched the movie, which is exasperating. That happens a lot (Ghostbusters, Marvel movies, etc...) I also think that it's really unfair when Christians only side with the Armenians because they follow the same religion..this is just a defence mechanism to alienate "the other".

You can already see in the comments here that people voted without watching it, but when Turks are doing it (like in IMDb) they're ridiculed. Since the Turkish population is large, one shouldn't wonder that their voting has a bigger impact on the final rating.

I watch both movies and decide for myself what I think of them and I really hoped to see impartial point of views from both sides. However, I already know that "The Promise" is biased in its political opinion and shows the Turks merely as evil which shouldn't be true because there are ALWAYS two sides of the same coin! This movie has its flaws and struggles with believable and realistic dialogues, however, having a strong female character who is not afraid of war and violence is certainly a plus. The landscapes, camera shots, cinematography are splendid and worth to see. Ben Kinglsey and Haluk Bilginer are always great - they are mastering in acting. I especially liked the acting of Michiel Huisman who showed a side of heroism, compassion and complexity of morals. Objectivity is really important to me and I really wished that instead of making propaganda movies, people would treat each other with love, respect, and compassion.
