Review of The Others (2001) by Spyros T — 18 Jan 2012
One the best thrillers of the last decade with an evocative atmosphere in which the horror come not from amputated limbs and heads but from the fog, the closed curtains and the hunting performances. Amenábar returns to the past redefining why and how a film should scare the audience, a past where the directors did not had the luxury of CGI effects and had to rely on the atmosphere they would build and the performances they could get from the actors.
