Review of The Others (2001) by Alex B — 24 Mar 2012
It's rare to find a film in the 21st century that is so inspired by the oldest and most classic of horror forms, and shows it without seeming dated, boring, or underwhelming. It turns it's referenced material on it's head, and makes a shocking and frightening experience through things as simplistic as atmosphere, and the idea of what you don't see, instead of turning to the tired formula of excessive gore found in the trend of hundreds of slasher flicks surrounding the film in it's time.
