Review of The Other Woman (2014) by Jason A — 31 Jul 2014
This really should of been comedy gold, but it does fall short, its an OK revenge comedy. Everyone does the best with the material given but with the exception of Leslie Mann's character, as she genuinely has a decent arc, everyone else is a little one note.
The worst culprit being Kate Upton who lends nothing to the threesome of betrayed woman... shame really. It was nice to see the relationship of the three women blossoming as that did make the film for me, but it needed much more laughs.
Using toilet humour (literally) as your main laugh out load moment (well it wasn't actually funny) is never a good thing unless its in an American Pie film. Nicki Minaj is surprisingly good in a supporting role, its also worth noting how she didn't contribute to the films soundtrack.
.. but Iggy Azalea did! It's worth watching but you won't watch it again unless there's nothing on on a sunday afternoon.... Plus its good to try and get the memory out of your head of Cameron Diaz having sex with a car in The Counsellor, oh crap, I've just remembered that scene! :-/.
