It's not consistently funny, and not as good as other Ferrell/McKay collaborations, but when it works it freakin' works. It's an action/comedy very much in the style of something like Beverly Hills Cop, and it blends the action and comedy together very well.

The action itself will be funny while at the same time boasting big budget entertainment and explosions, while still having plenty of witty dialogue and one-liners. Ferrell and Wahlberg boast an unexpectedly good chemistry, and it's a lot of fun watching the two play off each other.

Not the best Ferrell has to offer, but definitely one of the better action/comedies I've seen.
