If you're interested in the reign of Henry VIII or the story of Ann Boleyn, watch Showtime's 'The Tudors.' 'The Other Boleyn Girl' is not a terrible film--it does a decent job of providing a brief 2 hour synopsis of season two of the subscription channel's contemporary historical gem. Still, the drama and subtle politics are much more vivid on the silver screen.

When you've only got a few hours and want to learn about a tyrant, check out the Focus Features feature film. Otherwise, I recommend placing all 40 episodes of 'The Tudors' at the top of your Netflix queue.
