Review of The Orphanage (2007) by Sarah M — 04 Sep 2010
I don't really think that this is a horror movie, it is, however a chilling story of love-specifically a mother's love. The tension is thick enough to cut, and the movie is...haunting. The story is set in Spain at an orphanage that plays off as more of a hospice.
It is so creepy and it will stick with you. The ending is the only thing I really have a problem with and the reason why I have a problem with it is that it does not, in any way, fit the movie. It's almost a fairy tale ending.
It just doesn't work...
