Review of The Orphanage (2007) by Kristian N — 01 May 2010
This is a great great movie. Yes some will say its not the most scary one, me included, but I can see why people think that. it is creepy, like his previous films (Pans Labyrinth and The Devils Backbone) he has some effects that is used, but they are not there just to scare you or to show off. The effects are used perfectly and are not stealing screen time from the plot.
The movie reminds me of The Devils Backbone, the story is close to each other (but in no way exact) and Fragile. The way the story is told, the idea of having ghosts and children connected and the way the horror-element is kept in a low but creepy level.
A good movie worth watching.
