Review of The Orphanage (2007) by Midlands M — 08 Jul 2010

This was quite a good mystery/horror movie. Throughout the film we are given a great experience through the fairly good plot line, aswell as some above average acting, but I felt that the ending let down the movie somewhat. I agree that it made SOME sense, but even with the flashbacks, I didnt really see how that was a practical ending.

There could have also been more use of the horror aspect of this film, where the only real 'scary' scenes would have been the shots of thomas, which admittedly were pretty weak.

Never the less, this is a good film from a great director, but still doesnt face up to his other work such as 'Pan's Labyrinth'.
