Review of The Order (2003) by Bastet 0 — 09 Jan 2010
This is another one of those films that fails to meet expectation. I'm the first person to give a "hell's yeah!" when offered a supernatural flick to watch- especially when it involves the church. I'm not even that picky- I liked Stigmata (despite Arquette's whining).
This leaves quite a few things unexplained, a less than impressive villain, horrible acting (seriously, Sossamon should be a model and not an actress because she's only got half the equation) and the most annoying thing of all in ANY film: a contrived love story that only appears when it's convenient for the plot. I had to fast-forward through that I was so uninterested- I just couldn't care about it. If you really have nothing else to watch, it might be somewhat entertaining but don't count on enjoying it.
