Review of The Open Road (2009) by Melvin W — 11 Jul 2011
So much of this movie is terrific, and it shows Justin Timberlake finding his way as an actor and Jeff Bridges creating the beginnings of the character he would win an Oscar for in Crazy Heart. But this story is undone by a cinematographer who's better at shooting landscapes than people.
This movie's full of stunning vistas and washed-out, pasty people. It's filled with pretty people, but it ain't pretty to look at.
