Review of The Open House (2018) by Daniel B — 20 Jan 2018
Sloppy all around. The filmmakers are trying to throw the audience off in many different directions just for the sake of confusing them, and without the payoff of a satisfying reveal. The message/theme they are trying to send seems incomplete and inconsistent when looking at the movie as a whole.
And the characters choices (main characters and side characters) make very little sense after you have seen everything play out. The cinematography was pretty good in certain scenes. The acting was fine, but the story and how it was executed is just unsalvagable.
