Review of The One I Love (2014) by Cam O — 19 Jan 2015
By eerie cosmic coincidence, I selected this on Netflix (without knowing much about it) the same week I watched 'Predestination.' The two movies share an incredible amount in common, even though they are both wonderfully unique.
Mark Duplass and Elizabeth Moss play a troubled married couple who agree to go on a weekend retreat in hopes of repairing their relationship. I won't spoil the surprises (don't lose focus when the "big" twist seems to be explained), but I will say that this genre-bending movie deserves a lot more attention.
The Duplass Brothers - Jay and Mark produced, with Mark starring this time - are making some of the most creative independent movies of this generation.
