Review of The One I Love (2014) by Tiago C — 20 Mar 2015
The indie drama The One I Love is a bizarre but oddly fascinating film. When a troubled couple goes on a retreat to work on their marriage they discover a mysterious guest house in which strange things happen.
Elisabeth Moss and Mark Duplass lead the cast and give fairly good performances. And, the storytelling does an impressive job at building up the suspense and intrigue. Yet, it takes a while for the plot to get going, and the mystery is left rather open-ended.
However, despite its weaknesses, The One I Love ends up being remarkably daring and thought-provoking.
