Review of The One (2001) by Sina L — 31 Mar 2008
Jet Li is a favorite to most Hollywood. Yes, he is also a favorite in Asia as well. So when he takes some of the Hollywood projects that was given to him, this is one science fiction movie which I feel lacks one thing - a real villain.
Multiple parallel worlds isn't anything new. It's just that seeing Jet Li fight Jet Li sort of kills the tension of a good action movie, even a science fiction one. James Wong did a wonderful choreograph of the movie but what it lacks is the story. Action isn't that bad but I feel a true villain (which Jet Li ain't) can make this movie a good watch.
