Review of The One (2001) by Patrick M — 16 Jun 2009

I thought this was a great twist for Jet Li. I love the classical/epic style movies he does. The running on water and all that. I think it's beautiful especially when you understand the cinomatic history of that style such as what each color represents (helps you to understand why some scenes will be literally all in red, or some other color).

This movie has a lot of those elements but done in more of an american style. He can jump super high, and has super speed but done in a sci-fi way with great action and fighting scenes. This probably wont changer your life or anything but I thought it was a great way to keep a style but transition between cultures (especalley considering this was his first lead role in all English).
